Biography
  • Advises clients on compliance with international trade controls in corporate transactions, including due diligence and negotiations of trade-related provisions in underlying agreements.
  • Counsels clients navigating international trade issues at the intersection of U.S. and Japanese law.

Atsushi advises clients on compliance with, and investigations related to, international trade controls such as sanctions, import/export controls, anti-money laundering and anti-corruption.

Atsushi also handles trade remedy cases, including antidumping and countervailing duties investigations and reviews, as well as various international trade policy matters. He has considerable experience working with Japanese clients and is a native Japanese speaker qualified to practice in Japan.

Atsushi joined Akin from a Japanese law firm, where he served as an associate advising Japanese and international clients on international trade issues.
