Meggie focuses her practice on complex tax matters relating to private investment funds, mergers & acquisitions (M&A), cross-border transactions and other business activities.
Previously, Meggie was a judicial extern to the Honorable Adam B. Landy of the U.S. Tax Court in Washington, D.C., and a legal intern at the U.S. Department of Justice, Tax Division. Prior to law school, Meggie was a senior economic policy analyst for a civil rights and advocacy organization and worked in the office of U.S. Senator Patty Murray.
Meggie earned her J.D. from American University Washington College of Law, where she served as a notes and comment editor for the Administrative Law Review. She received a B.A. in American politics and government from the University of Puget Sound, with a minor in economics.
Meggie was a member of Akin’s 2023 summer associate class.
