Rick retired from the partnership in 2019. He represented clients across the energy industry, including power, exploration and production, transportation, refining, service and equipment manufacturing companies. Rick leveraged his deep experience to help clients structure transactions to be aligned with the political climate of the time and in compliance with changing laws on foreign investment.

Rick played a leading role in some of the industry’s most cutting-edge domestic and cross-border transactions throughout the United States, the Middle East, Russia, Central Europe and China.

He led the firm’s energy and international practice for over 20 years and served as partner in charge of the Houston and Washington, D.C. offices.

Rick continues to serve as chairman of the board for AutoNation Inc. and CBIZ Inc., both New York Stock Exchange (NYSE)-listed companies.
