Valerie focuses on a wide range of complex corporate transactions, including private company acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures and other general corporate and governance matters.
Prior to joining Akin, Valerie was an associate for another multinational law firm based in New York City. Prior to that, Valerie was a corporate and securities associate for another global law firm based in New York City.
Valerie earned her B.S. at The Pennsylvania State University, Smeal College of Business and her M.S. in legal studies from The George Washington University. She earned her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, with a concentration in corporate law. During law school, Valerie was the regional moot court director for the Northeastern Black Law Students Association.
- Represented client in connection with the acquisition of Reino Linen Service Inc.
- Represented client in affirmative asylum proceedings before the Asylum office, along with related immigration filings.
- Represented OCV Partners in Beacon Global Strategies investment.
- Represented A+E Networks in strategic partnership with Range Media.
- Represented Mubadala on acquisition of K-MAC Enterprises.
