Biography
  • Advises institutional investors in connection with private equity and hedge fund investments.
  • Advises sponsors on the formation, structuring and ongoing operations of domestic and offshore private investment funds.

Adela Coman focuses on representing sovereign wealth funds, fund of funds, U.S. and foreign public pension plans, university endowments, private foundations and family offices, in connection with their investments in onshore and offshore private equity funds.

Specifically, she guides clients through the legal due diligence stage of the investment process by reviewing and negotiating the terms of the fund formation documentation of buy-out funds, venture funds, credit funds, hedge funds and other investment vehicles in which the clients invest. Her representation also includes post-closing matters such as conducting “most favored nations” reviews.

In addition to representing investors, Adela also represents funds sponsors on matters involving the formation, structuring and ongoing operations of domestic and offshore private investment funds.

Prior to joining Akin Gump, Adela was an investment funds attorney at another global law firm in Austin, Texas.
