Biography
  • Advises on the formation and operation of private investment funds, both domestic and offshore.
  • Advises on transformative secondary fund formations.
  • Focuses on structured secondary transactions.

Amanda is a market-leading lawyer and trusted advisor to the world’s leading investment funds. She focuses primarily on the representation of buyers, including lead investors, and sellers in the acquisition and sale of investments on the secondary market. Her experience includes traditional portfolio sales, stapled secondaries, recapitalizations and restructurings, structured secondaries and other GP-led transactions.

Amanda has a sophisticated practice advising fund sponsors on complex matters involving the formation, structuring and ongoing operation of domestic and offshore funds, including private equity funds, credit funds and real estate funds. She also represents institutional investors and sovereign investors in connection with their investments in private investment funds.

During law school at Howard University, Amanda was editor-in-chief of the Human Rights & Globalization Law Review, a publication dedicated to enhancing dialogue on global issues of social justice.

Prior to joining Akin, Amanda was a senior associate with a Big Four accounting firm in Atlanta, Georgia.

  • Advised Blackrock’s Secondaries and Liquidity Solutions group on a substantial investment in Flagship Food Group, funded through CREO Capital Partners.
  • Advised BlackRock, Inc. as an anchor investor in Behrman Capital Micross CF L.P., a new single-asset continuation fund of approximately $500 million.
  • Advised SmartPitch on its investment in New Energy Equity, an end-to-end solar development and finance company.
