Brannen is an associate in the firm’s corporate practice. He assists public and private companies in mergers and acquisitions, securities, corporate governance and general corporate matters.
Brannen was previously a summer associate at Akin. Prior to that, he was a summer associate at a boutique law firm in Midland, Texas.
Brannen earned his J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law and graduated as a member of the Order of the Coif. While in law school, Brannen served on the executive board for the Texas Tech Law Review and as president of the Energy Law Interest Group.
Prior to law school, Brannen was a Registered Landman for a private exploration and production company. Brannen’s experience as a landman consisted of leasing, mineral acquisitions and identifying and resolving title issues throughout the Permian Basin.
