Chris Jeanes advises private equity firms, sovereign wealth funds and investors on fund and acquisition terms. He has worked on a variety of fund raisings and secondary transactions, including acquisitions of large portfolios of direct and indirect interests.
While in training with another leading U.S. law firm, Chris worked in the Singapore and Hong Kong offices, where he gained experience on a range of matters including debt restructuring, capital markets and private equity funds.
- Assisted a client on raising their first-time infrastructure fund which raised in excess of $1.5 billion, inclusive of co-investment vehicles.
- Advised a leading U.K. private equity house on a number of substantial secondary transactions involving portfolios and containing direct and indirect interests.
- Advised a client on their newest fund, which targeted litigation funding, and raised £350 million in their first and final closing.
- Assisted a client on the raising of their third flagship pan-African fund, which closed at its $1.1 billion cap, which was at the time the largest Africa-focused private equity fund.
- Advising a prominent sovereign wealth fund on their large-scale investments into many different private equity funds.
