Elizabeth T. Simon advises on a wide range of ethics and compliance-related matters to support the firm’s offices worldwide.

Liz is involved in issues impacting firm risk management and client relations. These include resolving conflict-of-interest situations, advising on ethical questions and developing firm policies to support ethics and compliance best practices.

Liz is an experienced litigator and legal ethics advisor, having spent her legal career representing clients in commercial and business litigation and appeals, including cases involving:

  • Legal ethics
  • Insurance coverage
  • Lawyer professional liability
  • Intellectual property
  • Business torts.

As a legal ethics advisor, she has counseled lawyers and bar applicants on legal ethics and professional responsibility obligations. These include bar investigations, disciplinary proceedings, fee disputes and bar admissions.

Liz has represented attorneys in disciplinary investigations and proceedings in the District of Columbia and Maryland and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office of Enrollment and Discipline, and in District of Columbia fee dispute arbitrations. She speaks and writes extensively on ethics issues.
