The lawyers in our environment & natural resources practice are frequently called upon to assist clients in assessing and addressing the potential liability associated with the presence of environmental contaminants. We bring a working knowledge of the relevant scientific disciplines, the types of industrial production processes and the properties of many industrial chemicals that are often involved in both environmental and toxic tort litigation. With the assistance of outside experts, we solve many complex scientific and technical issues, including significant product liability, labeling and licensing issues for public jurisdictions, oil and chemical companies, utilities and other manufacturing firms.

We have extensive experience with the laws and regulations governing the investigation, evaluation and cleanup of contaminants in the environment, including the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980 (CERCLA, or “Superfund”); the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, as amended (RCRA); the Clean Water Act; the Clean Air Act; the Toxic Substances Control Act; the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA); and the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act. This experience includes appearances in trial and appellate courts and before administrative tribunals across the country.
