The Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security ("BIS") assessed a $180,000 civil monetary penalty against New York-based Indium Corporation of America ("Indium Corporation") for unauthorized shipments of export-controlled solder preforms, solder wires, and solder ribbon to Russia.
- 06 Dec 2024 (BIS):
BIS again renewed two temporary denial orders ("TDOs") for two Russian airlines: Nordwind Airlines ("Nordwind") and Siberian Airlines d/b/a S7 Airlines ("Siberian"). The TDOs were last renewed on December 11, 2023 and, like the previous TDO renewals for these airlines, these latest renewals extend the TDO for each airline for a period of one year.

- 03 Jan 2025 (BIS):
BIS added 13 entities to the Entity List, including 11 under the destination of the PRC, for the following reasons:
- Acquiring and attempting to acquire U.S.-origin items in support of China's military modernization, including supplying the People's Liberation Army or Chinese parties on the Entity List with precision-guided missiles and satellite communication systems, dual-use electronic components, or radio frequency/microwave products explicitly for military equipment application.
- Having demonstrable ties to activities of concern, including developing hypersonic weapons, designing and modeling of vehicles in hypersonic flight, using proprietary software to model weapons design and damage, and otherwise supporting China's military-civil fusion efforts.
BIS also corrected errors in the addresses listed for the Entity List entry of Shenzhen Guowei Sensing Technology Co., Ltd.
- 03 Jan 2025 (OFAC):
OFAC sanctioned one PRC-based cybersecurity company, Integrity Technology Group, Incorporated, pursuant to EO 13694, for its involvement in multiple computer intrusion incidents against U.S. victims. These incidents have been publicly attributed to Flax Typhoon, a state-sponsored Chinese malicious cyber group, that has targeted organizations within U.S. critical infrastructure sectors.
- 02 Jan 2025 (BIS):
The Department of Defense released an annual update of its list of Chinese Military Companies ("CMCs") in accordance with the Section 1260H of the FY 2021 NDAA. The updated 1260H List adds over 60 entities designated as CMCs and removes six entities previously designated as CMCs.
